Why go from A – B when you can drive through Z first? March 20

Well, spring has sprung! And also on a completely unrelated note, today, I had my first SHARED ride on MetroAccess! I was met with an adorable little smiling old lady. She was rocking a pirate patch, and said that she just finished cataract surgery. She was told that “it wasn’t a priority,” so she decided to wait until she was over 80. So at 81, she was a feisty little pirate-looking lady that makes me look forward to being old.

I got on, and got settled, and started chatting with my new favorite lady. The driver says, “hey, we are dropping her off first, then bringing you to your office.” Cool, received, no problem. We start up Georgia Ave, and keep driving, and driving, and DRIVING! We drove 4.8 miles, to be exact, during rush hour traffic, all the way up to Kensington MD to drop my best friend off. We turned around, and drove me to my office, which btw is less than one mile away from my apartment. It is also right off of Georgia Ave. So a logical person would have picked me off, dropped me off at my office, hit Georgia Ave, and driven my BFF the almost five miles up in the other direction. But hey, what do I know…

Here is a map, showing the route we took from my apartment, to my good ole buddy’s doctor’s office… My office is to the right of the green arrow, just on the other side of Georgia Ave.

So, over an hour after I was picked up, I was finally dropped off at the office… better late than never, right?
